Follow Friday (26)

Feature & Follow is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

Q: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

Nonfiction. It's just so long and (don't hate me) boring. But maybe I'm just reading the wrong ones? Any suggestions for some good nonfiction?

  2. Same! Nonfiction bores me. I absolutely hate it when we have to read nonfiction in class. Pure torture! :)

  4. Maybe you should try reading some creative non-fiction? It might help ease you into the genre? Who knows, you might like it!

Check out A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers or In Cold Blood by Truman Capote :-)

  5. New foll from the hop. I avoid the Western. I don't like the Western in books or movies. Also memoirs by young people. Anything "as told to." Not hopping my own place this week but enchanted by your blog's name and so, I stopped by. Too sick to do much in the way of a post today but yesterday was awesome! Suggest "If Walls Could Talk" by Lucy Worsley. I reviewed it MOnday. My advice is to find shorter works of non-fiction wrutten conversationally and to remember there is no test at the end of the book.

  6. I feel the same way when it comes to nonfiction. It always seems too dull for me. I'm waiting for a book to change my mind though =)

  7. New follower!

Some non-fiction can be boring. If you've ever read a memoir, they can be interesting.

  9. Hopping through. I love non-fiction. What kind of subjects do you like? History? Fashion? Animals?
